Easter will be cheaper this year, chains are offering special egg prices

When buying typical Easter foods and ingredients for baking, this year it is not necessary to reach as deep into your pocket as last year, when it was record expensive. The sale prices of eggs before the spring holidays are almost half as low now, chains are attracting customers to them. However, chocolate, confectionery and potatoes in particular rose in price year-on-year.

A certification for the export of meat and meat products from the Czech Republic to the Philippines is complete and will be formally confirmed within a few days. The Minister of Agriculture Marek Výborný (KDU-ČSL) was informed by his counterpart, the Minister of Agriculture of the Philippines Francisco P. Tiu-Laurel Jr.

A change of closed zones due to African swine fever in Liberec region

In connection with a development of infectious disease situation, the State Veterinary Administration (SVA) is adjusting boundaries of closed zones marked out in Liberec region due to an occurrence of African swine fever (ASF) in a wild pig population there.

Grapevine started sprouting three weeks earlier

This year's winter development once again exceeded the original assumptions. Unusually high temperatures in southern Moravia woke up the grapevine three weeks earlier than usual. February used to be a time when temperatures hovered steadily below freezing and the landscape was covered in snow.
