ČSÚ: Meat production in May fell by 10,6 percents
Meat production still decreases. In May 36809 tons of meat (without poultry meat) was produced in the CR which is by 10,6 percent less than a year ago. Production of pork meat fell by 8,9 percent and production of beef meat by 17,4 percent as compared with the last year. The Czech Statistical Office announced it today. The production decrease trend continues and it is balanced by growth of raw material export for a processing industry, said the president of Agrarian Chamber, Jan Veleba. Concerning e.g. cattle breeding, in the CR 13 dairy cows fall on 100 ha; in adjacent Austria it is more than as many again. If the situation will continue in such way, a breakdown of our agrarian system will happen, said Veleba.
