New stores and better advertising could help to Czech potato-growers

Czech potato-growers entered after the last loss-making year in the new harvest with record low prices. They get maximally 2,60 crowns per one kilo of potatoes; in comparison with the last year it is roughly one half. Their position could be improved by new stores which will preserve a production from the old harvest till a summer. Also prepared advertising campaign shell increase a sale, said today a chairman of the Central Potatoe-growing Union František Novák at a field day in Havlíčkova Borová. In a decrease of the price, which is at this period obviously the lowest in many years, beside old reserves from the last year’s harvest also cheap imports from the EU and Egypt share.

Label of packaged water have to have source and locality of well

From the beginning of this month labels on packaged waters have to contain compulsorily a name of source and a well locality from which the water is pumped. On the cover of mineral waters there is also a new evaluation according to the whole mineralization. A consumer should found out for the first sight whether he/she buys strongly or slightly mineralized beverage. A spokeswoman of the State agricultural and food inspection (SZPI) Daniela Kolejková informed about it today.

Forest CR increases wages by 6 percents

The state enterprise Forest CR increases wages in average by 6 percents from the second half-year. A general manager of the enterprise Vladimír Blahuta informed about it. An average wage reached last year 17476 CZK and in the first this half year 17882 CZK. ‘Collective contract obliged us to increase it by 3 percents. However, we promised to employees that in case of favourable economic results this increase can be higher. And we fulfilled it’, said Blahuta.

Emission permits are allocated

Ministers decided yesterday on allocation of permits for trading with greenhouse gases for particular enterprises. The government approved a variant which is reputedly the most advantageous for chemical and refinery industry. However, the most share will be given to energetic enterprises which will shared in roughly two thirds of permits. A spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and trade Ivo Mravinac informed about the government decision. The government allocated among enterprises including a reserve in total permits for air pollutions of 97,6 million of tons of carbon dioxide.
