Stock capacities for intervention storage of cereals from a new harvest have to be open above all for farmers
SZIF already now chooses stock capacities for an intervention purchase from the harvest 2005 which will start again on November 1. Also it has chosen a new strategy for a new selection procedure. The new strategy for security of contracting capacities for stocking of interventionally purchased cereals from the harvest 2005 was constrainedly chosen by the State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) after offers began to come from stocks owners in June.
Julius Meinl sold its supermarkets to Ahold
A retail company Ahold will become a new owner of all 67 supermarkets of the company Julius Meinl in the Czech Republic. After the takeover stores Julius Meinl will rename to Albert, a spokeswoman of Ahold Kateřina Černá informed about it. A number of Ahold stores, which operates supermarkets Albert and hypermarkets Hypernova, will increase approximately to 300 stores. The company did not tell a value of the whole transaction. However, end of sale is liable to several conditions, including a permission of the Office for protection of competition, and is estimated in the second half of 2005.
CUA will enlarge a bachelor education by two other branches in Litvínov
The Czech Univerzity of Agriculture Prague (CUA), which opened an education centre last year in Litvínov in Most region, will enlarge the study offer by two other bachelor branches from October 2006. Interested people will be able to enter a combined form of study to the branch Economic administration service in forest management and in attendance form to the branch Landscaping. Vilém Podrázký, the dean of Faculty Forestry and Environment of CUA, which will secure the teaching, informed about it journalists today.
Tatra Mountains have been attacked by the biggest conflagration in last 50 years
Eight months after a devastating windstorm blew over the Tatra Mountains, another disaster afflicted the Slovak alps: 250 hectares of forest which were attacked by the windstorm in November last year, were destroyed by fire on Saturday and Sunday. Even if firemen succeeded to localize it, yesterday shortly after noon flames appeared again at several places. According to firemen's data it is dealt with the biggest conflagration in last 50 years in High Tatra. Last time a similarly large fire attacked Tatra Mountains in 1941 in Koprová lowland.
