Tošenovský: Why I say no to wind power stations

At present time a discussion develops in connection with a planned mass building of wind power stations in a region, especially in Jeseníky and Beskydy regions. Reaching of eight percents of production of electricity power from renewable resources till 2010 is an engagement of the Czech Republic within the entrance in the EU. However, there is a question whether we need forest of poles with propellers on edges of mountains to reach this quota in our region, or whether it would be possible to reach it by a combustion of biomass, municipal waste or mine gas which the region has surplus.

Harvest finished in Liberec region, yields overcame estimations

Harvest of cereals and rape finished in Liberec region. Still eight hectares of oat remain to harvest but it is insignificant, Jiří Teplý from the Agrarian chamber for Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou said to the ČTK today. According to him farmers are quite satisfied with yields. It is better than we originally presupposed; yields of cereals are about 4,5 ton from a hectare but in some enterprises in south of the region even six tons were harvested”, he added. The harvest confirmed roughly August estimations of farmers. In the region there were harvested cereals by 14 percent less then last year, despite the fact that the growers had sown by about 180 hectares more. “A harvest in last year was record, we cannot to compare it with this year's one”, said Teplý.

Zgarba: Reform of sugar market is acceptable for CR

According to the Minister of Agriculture Petr Zgarba, the reform of sugar rule of the EU for the Czech Republic is acceptable. However, some details have to be made clear. Petr Zgarba negotiated about the reform of sugar market with a commisar Mariann Fisher-Boel and British presidency. “An administrative reduction of our quotas would be a worse alternative than a reform based o at least partially on a competitiveness on the European market”, said Zgarba to the ČTK.

In spring the next year next to goat products they will start to offer also sheep ones. Also meat breed Suffolk is bred already some time in Pěnčín. The flock has been enlarged recently with thirty pieces of young sheep of milk breed. “Because people ask for sheep products a lot, already this spring we ordered a flock of East-Friesian sheep by means of the Association of goat and sheep breeders.
