Farmers threaten with protests; MZe promises delay of payments and help with credits

The Ministry of Agriculture wants to help to solve problems of agricultural enterprises with a lack of cash money by a delay of some payments of farmers towards the Land fund or by help in obtaining of bank credits. The office also negotiated about a strengthening of its budget for next year, the Minister of Agriculture Petr Zgarba said at today's press conference. According to a chairman of the Agrarian chamber Jan Veleba the situation in agriculture is serious and mood to go out in the streets.

Endowed school milk

Czech pupils should discuss of endowed milk and milk products in much greater rate and so help to wallets of parents. However, school directors and other workers would have to be more interested in it. So, dotations from the European Union are used insufficiently. Czech children used only 11 percents from a volume of endowments of the European Union for milk snacks last year. The EU - contrary to most areas - does not economize on health nourishment allowance for children and contributes in frame of the project School milk to every pupil every day for a glass of milk, yoghurt or a portion of cheese.

Huntsmen want compensation

Prague. Huntsmen require a compensation for game which beasts of prey bag in forests. The fact that wolfs and lynxes prey roes and deer is considered by huntsmen as one of the main causes of illegal killing off of closely protected beasts of prey. They argue that an introduction of compensation for animals which beasts of prey bag would help to a significant decrease of illegal hunt of lynxes. “Huntsmen in areas of lynx occurrence face to a certain economic loss, so to persuade all gun holders of usefulness of the lynx is quite complicated,” said Luděk Králíček, a head of department of hunting, marksmanship and ecology of the Czech-Bohemian Hunting Association.

47th International Engineering Fair

In Brno 47th International Engineering Fair will start this afternoon which the same as last year about 2250 exhibitors from 33 countries will participate in. The largest engineering fair in the Central Europe will be visited - according to organizers - by roughly 105 000 visitors. The main topic of the fair will be a huge whole Plastics, rubber industry and chemistry with participation of 260 companies with tens of new participants from Asia and Europe. The biggest representation will be of plants producing machine tools and forming machines.
