EC is going to toughen control of drawing money from EU

Simpler rules for drawing money from the EU funds and their spending are promised by the European Commission in the prepared regulations which will execute a seven-year budget (2007-2013) approved in December. The easier disposal of money should be accompanied with a stricter control, especially at the national level. According to European commissioner Siim Kallas, European tax payers merit a certainty that their money reallocated through the Union are not misused. The implementation of changes will enable the European Court of Auditors to approve easier the EU budget close, the commissioner thinks. The European Commission prepares the new regulations on base of remarks of the European Parliament, the Council Ecofin and the European Court of Auditors.

Interest in TECHAGRO increases, other pavilion had to be opened

Organizers of the international fair of agricultural engineering TECHAGRO have recently fought with a lack of showplace at the fairground in Brno. Thanks to a new firm, which ordered an area more than 1000 m2, finally, according to a manageress of PR and the advertisement of Fairground Michaela Zachová, other pavilion will be opened, a hall E next to the gate 4.

Food inspection warns again; false inspectors started to impose fines for fictional trespasses

The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) warn repeatedly against men who work off themselves as the food inspectors. After two cases which the Food inspection marked on Monday on the 16th January, a false inspector or inspectors appeared again at other three places, again in Prague 6, in Prague 8 and in Hostivice in the region Prague-West. They identified with false certificate to the shop assistants in shops which the man or men “controlled”. The certificate had a logo of SZFI, however, also a wrong address of the inspection. They collected fines of thousand and two thousands crowns for alleged trespasses on the spot. However, legal regulations do not enable to inspectors of SZPI to impose fine on the spot. The inspection imposes it only in the administrative procedure.

Tests did not confirmed virus in France

Fears from the first occurrence of bird flu in humans in Europe were invoked during the weekend by a cause of hospitalized French woman who had recently returned from Turkey. However, laboratory tests did not confirmed a presence of the virus H5N1 in the woman, who suffer from flu symptoms accompanied by breathing problems. Nevertheless, the virus rages in South-East of Asia; Indonesia reported two other victims of bird flu on Saturday.
