Bigger protection of birds will limit large buildings

The Czech Republic has to enlarge a system of protected territories Natura 2000. Somewhere it can mean a limitation of planned buildings. It results from conclusions of a special seminar in Darová near Pilsen in which also representatives of the Europ ean Commissions and the Ministry of Environment participated. “Yes, that’s right, we will have to enlarge a list of Natura territories”, Karolína Šůlová, a spokeswoman of the Ministry of Environment confirmed it. The government meanwhile approved about nine hundred areas in frame of the European system Natura. For the most part these localities interfere with already protected territories, as national parks and protected landscape territories are.

Non-profit organizations will get as much as 25 % of advance payment for projects

Non-profit organizations will be able to ask regions for advance payments of as much as 25 percent of budget of a project for projects financed from structural funds of the European Union. The Ministry for Local Development (MMR) will start this possibility on the 1st May; in June than regions invite applicants to propose projects. It is estimated that the non-profit organizations will introduce projects roughly for 300 million crowns. Lumíra Kafková from MMR it said it at a press conference. According to preliminary findings about six to seven regions from the total 14 are interested in. The regions will get money for the advance payments from the Ministry for Local Development. It is one of ministerial measures which should improve drawing of European money.

New European strategy for waste creation prevention and its recycling

The European Commission suggested a new long-term strategy which is about to contribute to Europe become “recycling society”.
