President vetoed law on trade chains behaviour

Václav Klaus returned an amendment of act on economic competition protection to the Parliament. According to representatives it should prevent some practices of trade chains towards suppliers. Businessmen did not agree with the novel, ale the Food Chamber was against it. The law will not come in force; only the old Parliament could vote on veto, however, it does not have enough time. According to legislative rules the newly elected Parliament can not vote on this veto.

Agricultural surpluses will be probably used also in the CR to help the poorest

The Czech Republic, according to the ministerial proposal should join a program in frame of which agricultural and food surpluses buy-out in the EU are used, with the EU support, to help the poorest inhabitants. In the CR it should deal with people in unfavourable social situation who have lost housing and are looking for services of sanctuary houses or social dormitories. According to estimations about 35 000 people can fall in the program. From a material, which will be negotiated by the government on Wednesday, two charitable organizations will distribute them food.

Czech Republic won beer championship

The football world championship has not started yet and Czech people can already celebrate a victory. However, they did not fight out it in German stadiums, but in editors of the magazine Stern who tasted beers from particular states participating in the championship. They kept the results of lots and the teams struggled in the same way as they could fight together in the real world championship. Among referees – taster there were four editors of Stern and also Conrad Seidl, a dumpy-looking chap from Austria who is often considered as the best German speaking beer journalist. His voice weight conformed to it. In contrast to editors from Stern his point was counted threefold.

Eco-farmers mind that some subsidies have fall out of the countryside program

The Union of Ecological Farmers PRO-BIO dislikes that the Ministry of Agriculture removed two measures from the rural development program for years 2007 – 2013 which were focused also on support of ecological agriculture. “The Ministry places ecological farmers on the second trail”, the Union reported in a press report. According to the Ministry the number of measures was limited on recommendation of agrarian organizations. A higher support for eco-farmers should result, in frame of rural development program, from advantages in some supports determined by points criteria, the resort added.
