What payment to farmers since 2009 will be subject to?

English term cross-compliance is used to be translated in various ways – a cross conformity, conditionality or cross control, however neither literal translation suggest much what is hidden behind the expression. In fact it is dealt with a compact collection of defined legal requirements for management in agriculture and with it connected system of checking, i.e. a sort of conditionality of payments. The aim of reform of the Common Agricultural Policy from 2003 (called Mid-Term Review) is separation of financial supports provided to agricultural entrepreneurs from production (so called decoupling). Council of EU passed program LIFE+

The Council of ministers for environment of the European Union agreed a regulation proposal yesterday concerning a program LIFE+ which represents one of main financial EU tools in are of environment. It is focused on support of projects concerning the environment not only in EU member states but also in third countries lying at the Mediterranean and Baltic seas and in candidate countries which showed interests in participation in the program. Sugar industry wants produce biospirit already since this year’s season

Company Ethanol Energy wants already in September in Vrdy in Kutná Hora region to start a test production of bioethanol for fuel purposes. Already in autumn also the biggest sugar beet processor, the company Cukrovary TTD Dobrovice from Mladá Boleslav Region would like to open its production. The factory in Vrdy has been already built, however according to the chairman of directorship Otakar Moťka, the putting into operation is still inhibited by obscurity about introduction of biofuels on Czech market. Paroubek’s government after several postponements left a decision on a form of support of biofuels to a new Cabinet.

Useless wasting of state money

According to many experts endowment of artificial outplanting of spruce forests, it is wasting of state money. They said that no small sums are given for outplanting of spruce also in places where this kind of needle tree would not grow naturally at all. For forests it means that then they are fare more prone to pest invasions and windbreaks. Paradoxically the state by these endowments contributes to wood sellers. Just the spruce is sold well.
