Země živitelka has problems with water
Interest in the exhibition “Země živitelka” (Earth breadwinner) doesn’t end among exhibitors and visitors even in its 33rd year which starts on Thursday. It is proved by the fact that more foreign firms will participated in it than last year. In total 610 domestic and foreign exhibitors will expose here. Last year 20 foreign firms participated, this year 31 ones answered a call. According to the directress of the company Výstaviště České Budějovice, Marcela Payerová, their increased interest is connected unambiguously with the international exhibition specialized on cooperatives.
European Day Without Cars exactly in month
The European Weak of Mobility will culminate in many Czech towns by the European Day Without Cars exactly in a month, on Friday, September 22. Already for the fifth time in many towns selected parts will be closed for car transport and in closed areas various action will take place promoting ecologically favourable and healthy ways of transport. This year’s all-European campaign under a slogan “Protect climate of the Earth” with a motto: ”On foot. On bike. By buss. By tram – Change yourself!” is focused on connections of protection of climate and transport problems. The European Day of Mobility and the European Day Without Cars joined this year with the campaign of the EU “You control climatic changes as well”.
Ministry of Agriculture will negotiate possible compensations for damages with farmers after end of harvest
Possible compensation for damages which according to farmers were caused by unfavourable weather during harvest will be negotiated by representatives of the Agrarian Chamber and the Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) after end of harvest on base of definitive data. Both sides agreed on it at today’s negotiation. It results from their expression for ČTK. According to the Chamber rains from the beginning of August depreciated a considerable part of crop and maximally half of production will be of standard quality. Farmers’ takings for the harvest will year-on-year decrease by three to four billion crowns due to it. “The Ministry of Agriculture took our information seriously and will deal with it”, Jan Veleba, the president of Agrarian Chamber told ČTK.
Less of cereals with lower quality will influence prices
Not only prices of bakery products but also prices of beer will rise. It will be influenced by less harvest of food wheat and malt barley as well as by their worse quality. There will be also a less harvest of feed cereals, therefore representatives of producers of feeding mixtures and subsequently also producers of meat from Agrofert and Agropol agreed also on a slight increase in meat prices. It was confirmed at a press conference organized by the Agrarian Chamber by representatives of millers, malt plants and managers of stores.
