Court has cancelled preliminary measures for ban of forestry activities of LČR

The Supreme Court in Olomouc has cancelled decree of Regional court in Ostrava which issued a decree of preliminary measure consisting in a ban of forestry activities according to contracts from selective procedures organized in former times by Lesy ČR (LČR). A spokesman of LČR, Tomáš Vyšohlíd, acquainted with it today. „The court agreed with our opinion that the preliminary measure is inadequate and moreover it does not rehabilitate relations between us and prosecutors“, added the general director of LČR František Koníček. According to him „disapproval of preliminary measures“ for the company Lesy of the Czech Republic means that the present legal situation will not be further complicated by interruption of works in forests and by a risk of economic and ecological damages.

CR will get 2,8 billion Euros for rural development

The Czech Republic will get 2 815 billion Euros (about 80 billion crowns) in years 2007-2013 from the European Union which is the tenth highest sum. The European Commission decided on it on Tuesday. The highest aid will be allotted to Poland, then to Italy and Germany. Hugo Roldán from the press department of the Ministry of agriculture said that the approved amount corresponds with a sum on which the program of rural developments counts for year 2007 to 2013. As many as 13 billion crowns should be in these years divided in supports to Czech countryside and agriculture in these years.

Koreans rescue trees

Representatives of the automobile factory Hyundai did not find in the whole Czech Republic a firm which would be able, according to their ideas, to move full-grown trees growing at a place of future plant in Nošovice. Therefore they hired a firm directly from Korea which can do similar operations. Hundai at its expense will replant roughly one thousand threes in Nošovice. The automobile factory would not do such an action at all. The trees stay in the industrial zone at a place where the factory will be built – and the municipal offices in Nošovice and Nižní Lhoty have already issued agreement with cutting these trees.

Canada and the USA have signed agreement on end of dispute about wood

The highest business actors of Canada and the United States signed on Tuesday agreement which will end officially a protracted dispute of both countries about export of Canadian building timber. The whole dispute worsened relations between the two biggest trade partners in the world in recent years. The agreement was signed by a chief of the Office of trade agent of the USA, Susan Schwab, and the Canadian Minister of Foreign Trade, David Emerson. Both countries agreed on end of the dispute at the end of April, however, there were some details remaining to be solved. The agreement has to be still approved by Canadian parliament but no problem is expected.
