Farmers from Luka won competition Farmers of the year

The competition Farmers of the year has a winner - the agricultural company Luka nad Jihlavou. A joust with several-year tradition, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agrarian Chamber, the Agricultural Union and many agrarian organizations, evaluates participants only according to economic results. “Many farmers miss basic conditions, modern technical backup; therefore they don't prosper. We speed very well because we have high labour productivity with a minimum of workers”, Alena Nováková, the directress and agronomist of the company Luka explained. In 1990 250 employees worked in the cooperative. This year 31 workers care for 1500 hectares of fields and large dairy cow breeding.

Owners of Setuza proposed agreement to state

Zetor will begin to produce new model; it wants to sell 926 pieces

Zetor from Brno plans to sell over 900 tractors of a new model Proxima Plus next year. It will start serial production in February 2007. It has already 80 orders for the first month, Miroslav Toman from a medial firm representation said to CTK. Zetor stared now to produce verifying series to find out if the design documentation is all right. The firm wants to sell 6800 machines this year. The new series includes three models with load 60, 66 and 74 kilowatt. Technicians spent several thousand hours testing the prototypes. Last imperfections should be removed just by the testing series. “It can happens for example that some component does not fulfills parameters of the whole, than the documentation has to be adjusted”, Toman explained.
