Veleba: Farmers will be deprive in EU subsidies of 600 million CZK this year

According to the president of Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba Czech farmers will be deprive in subsidies from the European Union of about 600 million crowns. The reason is that applications of farmers in ecological programs of the new Program of Rural Development for period 2007 – 2013 will be admitted in the Czech Republic as late as in the autumn this year. Reputedly a blame is on the a side of the Ministry of Agriculture. Veleba said it at today’s Fruit-growers Days in Hradec Králové. However, the Ministry argues claim that who obstructs opening of the program is the European Union.

More than half of owners of label KLASA recorded increase of sale in its products appreciated with national grade label

A logo of the label KLASA on covers of products starts to pay off to producers of quality domestic food. Growing awareness of the label KLASA among consumers and mass marketing campaign projects favourably in sale of products marked with the logo of national quality label KLASA. Already 187 producers for their 1297 products have the label KLASA. From a research ordered at the end of last year to the prestigious research agency STEM/MARK by the State Agricultural Intervention Fund it resulted that 70 % of owners use the logo of label KLASA in own marketing communication and other 20 % is decided to use it in the future.

Surplus of Czech milk in foreign trade increases; big part of exported milk is raw

The Czech Republic since the accession in the EU has shown a growing surplus in milk foreign trade. Last year it represented about 3,6 billion crowns over 11 months which is in comparison with the whole year 2003 increase by 80 percents. In opinion of a chairman of the Bohemian-Moravian Milk Union Michal N˙mec export of consumption milk and fermented products grows significantly. Also export of raw milk increases which, however, means for processors an outflow of raw-material. Also some imports increase and dairy works are afflicted with growing inflow of cheeses. Export of milk products last year by November was roughly ten milliard crowns which was in comparison with 12 month of the year 2003 an increase by three quarters. Import in comparison of the same periods increased by 71 percents to 6,4 billion crowns.

PGRLF – supplements to contracts

PGRLF has sent supplements to existing valid agreements on provision of subsidy for a part of credit interests. They mean a significant tightening of conditions of these agreements. The Agrarian Chamber conveys to that that a signing of this supplement is a voluntary act of each contractor. In case that it is not be signed there will be no legal consequences and the earlier closed agreement is further in force. Also this fact has and will have no impact on a possible future negotiation with PGRLF which representatives of ACH CR will control in the fund directorship (we have two representatives of five).
