Forests in CR has been hit by windstorm which Lesy ČR had not remember since its rise

First estimation of Lesy ČR: damage will be in millions of cubic meters of wood. Lesy ČR expressed its fear of wind calamity of a wider extent yesterday. After today's night the anxienty has been, unfortunately, fulfilled. In forests managed by Lesy ČR million of cubic meters of wood were damaged by the first estimations. The highest damages are in South-West of our republic. Estimation of damages will be further specified regarding to need of unblocking of roads which can last a week. In following days we pronouncedly don't recommend visits of forests because a stability of many trees is disturbed after the windstorm and there is a threat of their fall or a fall of large branches!!!

We need more negajoules

The chairmen of Green party Martin Bursík stacked the cards in Czech energetics. He wants to change it. In a coalition agreement you bring i.a. an aim to reduce energetic costingness of Czech economy per a unit of GDP by 40 % to the year 2020, while the European Commission speaks about a possible saving of primary energy by 20 %. Why? We kept to the fact that in CR the energetic costingness is almost double that in the EU so a potential of savings in particular sectors of economics and transport is logically higher. We can start from this number and we can prepare an own program of energetic effectiveness. At first we have to update economic and market potential of energy savings. For example households spend more than 70 % of final consumption of energy for heating. To achieve 40 % saving it is possible only that savings from particular economic sectors will be summed and various economic tools will be used as well as European funds last but not least.

Imports of cheese increase year-on-year by tens of percents

Although according to the pre-Christmas inquiry organized by the Agrarian Chamber CR most products in trade chains is of inland origin, in opinion of the chairman of the Czech-Moravian Milk Association Michal Němec the situation gradually changes. Unfortunately, in disfavour of our dairy works. “We still have not got complete statistics but for example in three quarters of last year cheese imports in the CR increased by almost 30 percents”, Němec stated. According to him a trend in increase of cheese import is “impressive”. Above all Polish and German products roll in the Czech Republic. On the contrary, according to the Milk Association in export of cheeses the CR stagnates.

Wood engravers can be dangerous also in fruit growing

Generally wood engravers are not in fruit growing those kinds of pests which would significantly reduce production. However, recently cases have been reported when they cause damage in nurseries, both in ornamental and fruit. Other danger is their harmful impact on trees re-grafted into more perspective varieties and on dwarfed stock. However, they make the largest damages on overmature fruit orchards. To make effective measures against the pest it is essential to determine (recognize) it and to know its bionomy, it means a course of its life. Since in this case the pest is insect under tree bark, we have to count on that the situation will be quite more complicated.
