Most of trees in windbreaks is spruce, a delicacy for wood engraver
The hurricane which blew over the republic last week cut mainly spruces. According to the Forest Management Entrepreneurs Association Miloš Balák, spruces represent as much as 90 percent of fallen wood. “And it is attractive for wood engraver”, Balák adds. Wood cutters agree that without fast clearing the wood other calamity can come after the wind one. “Every wood-engraver calamity starts with non-processing or late processing of fallen wood”, a president of the Czech Forest Management Entrepreneurs Association Pavel Indra added.
SETUZA doesn't consider its employees as sureties
A management of the joint-stock company SETUZA strongly enters a protest against words of the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič that “wages are frozen” to the firm employees, as he reported in an interview for ČT 24 on the 23rd of January. Definitely it is essential to refuse also other his sensationalstatements that “a management of the firm takes employees as sureties in a situation of negotiation with the government” which he reasoned by a rise of socially explosive situation which pushes than politicians in a complicated position. The firm management identifies with his words about a socially explosive situation which they have to calm down, nevertheless, it is caused by executive proceedings on proposal of which also the government of the Czech Republic had decided. The Minister of Agriculture made certain of the actual state by a personal visit of SETUTA where he was acquainted with the whole situation also by representatives of union organizations and employees.
MZe: Setuza would have to offer for reconciliation much more than 850 million CZK
According to the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič, the firm Setuza, toward which the state keeps more than four-billion outstanding debt, would have to offer substantially more, in frame of settlement, than 850 million crowns. The firm made this offer at the end of last year with that it is for them on an edge of economic tolerability. Gandalovič in an interview for ČTK today repeated the standpoint of his predecessor Milena Vicenová that the sum is not acceptable. He did not specify how much the state requires regarding to delicacy of negotiation. Since the half of November Setuza has faced an execution on the proposal from the state.
Russia cancels ban of Czech cattle import from the 1st of February
From the 1st of February Russian veterinary administration will cancel a temporary ban of import of cattle from many regions of the Czech Republic. The agency ITAR-TASS announced it with a reference to a spokesman of a federal service of veterinary and phyto-sanitary control. “After detailed examination of the situation concerning occurrence of disease BSE (so called the disease of mad cows) in the Czech Republic, the inspection made a decision to allow import of breeding and commercial cattle from the Czech Republic which hadn't genetically become to herds in which the disease had occurred before and which had not been born before the year 2002, in the territory of Russian Federation from the 1st of February”, the spokesman Alexej Alexejenko specified.
