Foods raised in prices significantly
While prices of products from rock oil decreased in August, prices of foods raised. Substitution of diesel motor fuels with bio-ethanol obviously is not a cause of the first phenomenon, however, rise in price is connected with it surely. A high demand for food “from west” in countries as China or India; a weak harvest in Canada, Australia and in European areas around Black sea; and a high production of bio-ethanol from agricultural plants increase prices of food not only on the world market but also in the Czech Republic.
Anheuser-Busch is said to negotiate with government on purchase of Budvar
American brewery colossus Anheuser-Busch negotiates reputedly with Mirek Topolánek's government on purchase of Czech Budvar. The report of an agency Thomson Financial was brought by a server Týden.cz. Americans carry on age-old lawsuits against south-Bohemian brewery for trade-marks all over the world. Thomson Financial refers to an article in a periodical Euro am Sonntag which will be issued on Sunday. The paper refers to unnamed representative of ODS, Týden.cz reported.

In general the first this-year's case of occurrence of BSE - so called disease of mad cows - was diagnosed on Tuesday the 11th of September by veterinarians in ZD Zálší Slatina in Pardubice kraj. In the ČR and the European Union this disease decreases. The occurrence of BSE was revealed by tests only at more than eleven-year old cow. The total number of cattle in ZD Zálší reaches almost three hundred. “For preventive reasons peers of the infected cow, so called cohort will be killed. Most likely it will be dealt with several animals. At present time in no case it is not necessary to be afraid of possible further spreading of the disease”, the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandaloviš said.
I cut down by myself, I will sell by myself
A governor of most of Czech forests, the state enterprise Lesy of the Czech Republic (LČR) evidently will not buy fifty percent of shares of the firm Hradecká lesní a dřevařská společnost (Forest and Wood-working Company in Hradec) as he proclaimed before. LČR already controls the half share in the biggest inland timber trade company, however, instead of purchase of other shares it will obviously establish a completely new and own trade firm. The information was confirmed to the weekly Euro by a source close to management of LČR and at the same time a co-owner of Hradecká lesní a dřevařská společnost (HLDS) František Dejnožka.
