SZIF started to send first decision on LFA and the Czech Republic will open spending money from EU budget
The State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) started to send a decision on granting a subsidy to applicants farming in less favourable areas (LFA) yesterday. More than 10 thousand application have been submitted and presently as much as 2,8 billion crowns will be paid to applicants. These financial means will be paid in frame of by Brussels approved Rural Development Program 2007 - 2013. The support to LFA for which SZIF received applications in May this year should serve as a compensation to farmers who manage in the given type of less favourable area. SZIF obtained 10 332 applications for a subsidy for 761 270 ha of land in total. SZIF will subsequently pay to applicants maximally 2 794 CZK.
SZIF will soon start to pay farmers the first subsidies for this year
The State Agricultural Intervention Fund (SZIF) will start soon to pay farmers the first subsidies for this year. It is dealt with supports to farmers in less favourable areas. This year more than 10 000 interested people applied for them. In total they will get as much as 2,8 billion crowns. SZIF communicated it to ČTK. According to SZIF it is dealt at the same time in payment of first money in frame of a new rural development plan for years 2007 - 2013. It is covered from roughly four fifths by the European Union. The fund started to send decisions on granting the subsidy on Tuesday. The payment itself can start in a moment when the given decision will become effective, so till 15 calendar days from the delivery to the applicant. He/she can shorten the time if he/she waives the right of appeal.
SVS admonishes: Don't forget rodent control
After last year's warm winter and in fact summer favourable for rodents it is clear that farmers and processors will have to apply themselves to rodent control. Josef Duben, the spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration CR (SVS) reminded it. “Farmers and especially food processors will not save on omission of regular rodent control. As soon as the cycle of reproduction is not disturbed by a regular disinfestation, problems grow”, Duben stated. Workers of the state veterinary supervision paid within their inspection attention to a possible occurrence of rodents. If a veterinary inspector finds out such a fact, he/she orders to adopt corresponding measures.
Price of milk will maybe decrease. However, bread and pastry will rise in price by as much as quarter
Formidably rowing prices of milk can be finally only an artificially fed bubble which will soon deflate. According to some producers there are some signals that milk products and butter could soon cheapen. “Such a trend is expected by German businessmen with whom we talked. Reduction could come in last months of the year”, an economic director of Dairy works Hlinsko Aleš Medvec said on Wednesday. The local trademark Tatra belongs among the biggest in the Czech Republic. However, a similar trend can not be expected in bread and pastry production of which is expensive because of a steep growth in price of cereals. Bakers agree that increase in prices will be as much as quarter. “The reason is not only expensive flour but also other inputs as energy and wages. We suppose that price of bread and pastry will increase by 25 percents”, a trade manager of Hradecká pekárna, Zdeněk Sláma, said.
