Minister Gandalovič: We want to negotiate about problems in branch of pig breeding

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič is aware of severity of the situation in branch of pig breeding. He is prepared to start negotiations with breeders soon. “The only reasonable solution is bilateral communication and I am prepared in this respect to explain an attitude of management of the resort to farmers. I don’t understand to resorting to pressure actions; the ministry conducts long-term negotiations with farmers. A starting-point can be only conception steps on which, I believe, we will agree with pig breeders”, Gandalovič said.

Euro-representatives finally significantly decreased limits for car emissions

The European Parliament finally moderated its original proposal for reduction of car emissions. Originally Euro-representatives proposed a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions in new cars to 120 g per kilometer by the year 2012 which was criticized by both car factories and member states as unrealistic. The final proposal for which most of representatives raised their hands counts on a reduction to 125 g of CO2 per kilometer by the year 2015, so three years later.

Ministry of Agriculture solves land ownership

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič set a work group named Land which should form a strategy of land treatment. Their members are representatives of the Ministry, owners and land users, the Land Fund and the Central Land Office. According to Gandalovič, a scope of the work group should be removal of mechanisms which prevent unlocking of land market.

A spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture Petr Vorlíček reported that he has not noted information yet on any competence changes of institutions engaged in these problems.

America is crushed by fire; 500 thousand Californians left homes

Huge conflagrations in California forced authorities to declare an obligatory evacuation for 513 thousand people in the area of San Diego near Mexican borders. A British news station BBC informs on it. At present between Mexican border and the town Santa Barbara, which is approximately 160 kilometers westward from Los Angeles, there are at least sixteen huge fires. Work of 6000 firemen is made harder by heat and strong wind which reaches speed as much as 113 kilometers per hour. According to forecasts these unfavourable conditions are expected to last at least 24 hours. California experienced an extraordinary dry summer, so the land is very parched.
