Chamber of Deputies passed amendment of act on pharmaceuticals in third reading

The draft should enable breeders to buy pharmaceuticals also from their distributors. To achieve a compliance with legislative of the European Union, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Veterinary Administration CR it is necessary to complete in some aspects the amendment of act. Effective control of use of pharmaceuticals, connected with risks of occurrence of disallowed substances in meat and animal products determined for human consumption, has to be maintained.

Nutrients in agricultural land for as much as 40 billion yearly disappear

Czech landscape looses an ability to keep water and thereby also its quality. Scientists from the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně (UJEP) in Ústí referred to it. According to their judgement water carries away nutrients and important substances from agricultural land for 30 - 40 billion crowns yearly. It can cause also a civilization problem because water looses gradually its fertility. Journalists were told it by Josef Seják from the Faculty of Environment at UJEP.

Farmers fear for subsidies due to rise in food prices

Farmers which do not like accusation that basis foods raise in price owing to rise in milk or wheat price set off to fight with hard numbers. They blame trade chains and processors for the rise in prices. In background of their activity is a fear from limitation of subsidies from the side of state which can happen owing to increasing earnings of farmers as the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič (ODS) implied last week.

Flood-protection measures in Olomouc passed the first stage

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič visited Olomouc yesterday and inaugurated a water-work Morava, Černovír and thereby he finished the first stage of flood-protection measures in Olomouc. A spokesman of the ministry Petr Vorlíček informed on it. According to his data together with Gandalovič also the commissioner of Olomouc region Ivan Kosatík, the chief magistrate of Olomouc Martin Novotný, the director of Povodí Moravy s.p. Miroslav Duda as well as other important person participated in the inauguration.
