LN: Government considers withdrawal of action against EC for permits
According to today's Lidové Noviny plan rises in the Czech government how to obtain a higher allotment of emission permits from the European Commission. To Czech entrepreneurs it should be ensured by a withdrawal of action which the government filed against the Commission after Brussels had retrenched the original Czech proposal for a volume of emitted carbon dioxide by 15 percents. Czech cabinet, according the gazette, indicates that it is willing to succumb. “I don't exclude that we will withdraw the action if there is a correction of the Commission's decision”, a Vice-premier for European Affairs Alexandr Vondra said to journalists. The government asks Brussels for a year limit in height of 102 million tons of CO2; it got only 86,8 millions. Vondra refused to specify what concretely it is meant by the correction.
Czech breweries report record production
Domestic beer production over the last year will reach for the first time a record margin 20 million hectoliters and it will be higher by one percent than in 2006. Czech export will increase from 3,54 million to 3,7 million hl. Definitive last year's results over the whole Czech market of 45 industrial breweries will be in February. Considering surrounding countries, Russian and Polish markets grow now while Slovakia, Austria and Hungary stagnate. Germany has already for sixth year decreased, except 2006 when there was a football championship.
ZUČM: Production of inland growers increased slightly last year
Inland growers increased slightly a market production of vegetable. According to estimation of the Czech and Moravian Vegetable Union (CMVU) reached 249 299 tons which is about 12 500 tons more than in 2006. CMVU reports also s slight increase in the growing vegetable acreage which enlarged last year from 11 082 hectares in 2006 to 11 289 ha. A chairman of the Vegetable Union Jaroslav Zeman said it to journalists today.
Third round of reception of applications for subsidies from Rural Development Program starts
Reception of applications for subsidies from the Program of Rural Development for measures of the 3rd round will be opened on the 26th of February 2008. Applicants can submit their projects for modernizing of agricultural enterprises, for start of activity of young farmers, further for diversification of activities of non-agriculture character, or a support of establishment of enterprises and their development. There is also money for renewal of forest potential after calamities and a support of social functions of forests.
