The most popular Czech bio-food 2008

Results of a consumer's inquiry “The most popular Czech bio-food 2008” were announced on Sunday the 30th of March 2008 at a fair Biostyl 2008. This year the title was bestowed to “čoko-kokosky” with spelt flour from the Biopekárna Zemanka. The second place in an evaluation of consumers took white yoghurt from goat milk from a family farm of Pavel and Jitka Dobrovolní DORA; the third place was obtained by pear brandy from pears Madame Verte from Zámecké sady Chrámce produced by husbands Syrovátka's. The festive declaration took place at the International fair of health nutrition, ecology and health lifestyle BIOSTYL 2008 at Prague Fairground in Holešovice. The competition winner obtained a possibility to use a mark “ČESKÉ BIO 2008” on its packages; all three honoured got a voucher for free use of a stall at a fair Biostyl 2009.

EU and United State dispute about beef

The World Trade Organization decided after a long time in a dispute about ban of import of hormonal-modified beef imposed by the European Union on the United State and Canada. After publishing the decision both sides of the contention celebrate victory, but the United States still claim that the Union had only misunderstood it. “The European Union simply ignores what the panel says in fact”, a spokeswoman of the American Ministry of Trade said after the EU declared at the beginning of week that the WTO decision says that repressive measures from the USA and Canada side towards EU products was contrary to law.

Searching and recognition of origin of born calves

Starting with processing of performance testing from the 27th of March 2008 to find out origins of just born calves announced in the performance testing, not only record about realized inseminations and ET but also a report about activity of bulls in a natural breeding are used. It is dealt with reports sent by breeders for needs of the world-wide system of central cattle register. In connection with use of this register of natural breeding the whole methodology was slightly adjusted in the interest of increase of probability of foundation of a calf's father.

Renewable energy resources will not save us and we will not avoid the core
