EU wants limits for waste sorting. Czech Republic has to add

An ecological parcel of EU will be substantially enlarged. The Union wants it to include also rules for waste sorting. Till 2020 every country should recycle a half of all communal waste and 70 percent of building and demolition rubble. Except that in four years the EU should declare “stop-state” and member states will not be allowed to produce more waste than in 2008. A Committee for Environment of the European Parliament agreed on it and thereby it gave “green” to a prepared instruction on wastes.

Czech fishermen can spend about 150 million crowns from operational program annually

In December 2007 Brussels approved Operational program Fishery for period 2007 – 2013 which will ensure for our fishery roughly 1 billion crowns for modernizing of the sector. A spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture Petr Vorlíček informed on it today. According to his data the contribution of Czech side represents quarter of means. The government also according to him approved a frame of methodology for measure from OP Fishery focused on environmentally friendly treatment with ponds. The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič informed on finalization of negotiation with European Commission on the National Strategic Plan Fishery and Operational Program Fishery today.

Change of cage raisings

Czech egg producers will have to invest at least two billion crowns next years to fulfill conditions of European regulation which should forbid breeding of hens in non-adjusted cages. In the second half of this year Jan Veleba together with the Ministry of Agriculture wants to prepare rules for spending of subsidiary investments from European funds and state budget which poultry breeders could use already in 2009.

Area of bio-vineyards increased almost by half this year in the Czech Republic

A number of bio-wine producers increases in the Czech Republic. The acreage of vineyards, on which vine-growers don’t use chemical sprays, increased by 44 percents to 353 hectares from the beginning of year till the end of March. Also acreages of fruit orchards and arable land for growing of bio-foods grow. Areas increase thanks to demand which will increase steeply in several next years, Tom Václavík from an agency Green Marketing said it to ČTK today. Present supply of ecological farmers is no more sufficient to cover demand and most bio-foods are imported from abroad in the Czech Republic.
