Energetics is this year's main topic of Week of Sustainable Development
Martin Bursík, the Minister of Environment opened symbolically a cycle of lectures the Week of Sustainable Development in the Day of Earth on Tuesday. Jarmila Kreisová from a press department of the Ministry of Environment CR (MŽP) informed on it. According her data interested persons can see presentations and discuss topics as climate change and sustainable energetics for three days in Hrzánský Palace and in the seat of the European Commission in Prague. Concretely especially use of renewable energy resources and their role in reduction of greenhouse gases will be discussed.
Day of Earth is celebrated for several decades
A first campaign with a name Day of Earth took place on the 22nd of April 1970 in the United Nations of America. It ask for increase of power effectivity and for looking for renewable energy resources, to recycle materials and wastes, to exclude chemicals and waste damaging the ozone layer of the Earth from use, and so on. The campaign targeted to put through a question of protection of environment in a political discussion and to support public interest in these problems. It was initiated by an American senator, Gaylord Nelson, with a support of other American politicians. In 1970 million USA citizens took part in it, especially students from primary school, high schools and universities. The campaign had an unusual acceptance and brought a tradition of celebration of the Day of Earth as an international feast of environment.
Why it is essential to support young farmers
Young people want to enterprise in agriculture and to live in the country. A Young Agrarians Society of the Czech Republic (YAS) claims it in their declaration with reference to a positive acceptance of a subsidiary program, which helps them in beginning of their enterprise. However, according to YAS earmarked financial resources can by far not satisfy all interested people in starting subsidies.
Group Bel will buy two milk-cheese firms
A top French producer of branded cheeses Groupe Bel announced on Monday that it will enlarge its activities in the Czech Republic by an acquisition of two other enterprises. A subject of just closed transaction was a surrender of 100-percent capital of a company J+R and 71,34 percents of stocks of Jaroměřická mlékárna, two affiliated companies in which Zdeněk Palát had a majority interest.
