Italians condemn cheese mozzarella as safe; it can go in world

Italian cheese mozzarella is safe again, so it can be exported and sold anywhere in the world. Italian authorities informed on it today. A scandal with buffalo milk, which is used for production of mozzarella, broke out recently in Italy. According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Health it is not necessary to do any other tests before sale of the cheese. It concerns both the cheese and other products from buffalo milk. Italians checked hundreds of premises producing mozzarella.

Viticultural reform has been definitely passed by European Union

A reform should increase competitiveness of European viticulture in a competition with wines from South America, the United States and Australia. The EU is one of main producers, consumers, importers as well as exporters of wine. The viticultural reform also counts i.a. on liquidation of some vineyards, on cancellation of subsidies for distillation of surpluses, as well as on a gradual cancellation of limiting system of rights for outplanting. Finally a ban of additional sweetening wine with beet sugar fell out whereof Czech vine-breeders were afraid. All necessary regulations should come in force on the 1st of August this year.

Spring swarming of wood-engraver started

Sunny weather woke up wood-engraver in last days. During the weekend foresters recorded first traces of wood-engraver swarming in lower positioned forests. Regarding a wood-engraver base from the last year a strong wood-engraver population is expected. It should significantly influence health state of our forests. Specialists speak even about a possible wood-engraver calamity.

Moravian wines obtain prestige, they carry medals home

Moravian wines carry other valuable scalp from abroad - on one of the biggest world competitions Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Czech vine-growers obtained six golden and eleven silver medals. Wines from Moravia fought for the appraisal with thousand wines from all over the world. 6190 samples from 48 countries were sent in the competition which took place this year in French Bordeaux.
