Arrogance of state power

The Office for Protection of Competition gave a final decision a week ago in which it sentenced seven poultry breeders to a fine of 14 million CZK and confirmed its original verdict to punish poultry breeders for wanting to protect against their economic death. For allowing to oppose despotism of trade chains and their price dictate which forced them to produce their goods, poultry meat, under their production costs! What they did concretely? Before the last year end they met and wanted to sell their chickens for a price 20 CZK/kg.

Work in forests continues on maximal output power

Czech forests were damaged by a depression Emma two months ago. Works on liquidation of consequences are in full operation. Till this time 45 % of damaged wood mass have been processed. In forests in management of the state enterprise Lesy České republiky, s.p. Emma damaged 1 980 000 m3 of wood mass. Regarding the fact that during winter and spring months contracts for so called medium term commissions were closed for period 2008 - 2010, our partners were able to start harvesting the accidental calamity on contracting territorial units (SÚJ) where they had won a selective proceeding. On this day 891 000 m3 have been processed which corresponds to 45 % by Emma damaged wood mass.

Budvar increased export in Canada by almost quarter

Export of Budějovický Budvar in Canada increased by almost a quarter in first three months. In these days a hockey championship is plaid here. Petr Samec, a spokesman of Budvar, said it to ČTK today. Nevertheless, year-on-year growth is far higher. Over the past year the brewery sold almost 5000 hectoliters of light lager Czechwar in the country of maple leaf which was by 43 percents year-on-year more.

Maybe at looking at blooming trees you wondered where is the everywhere-present buzzing of bees as before. There are more reasons why bees have not bed of roses today, so no wonder that every good news, which could mean a discovery of effective help, are welcome. Let's hope that this good news is also information on clearing-up some aspects of one of the worst bee diseases. German scientists made a discovery which explains better the infection mechanism of one of the most disastrous bee diseases - the plague of bee larvae (Hystolysis infectiosa perniciosa larva). This disease is one of infectious diseases able to kill all the colony of bees. So every year this illness liable to announcement causes considerable economic loses to bee-keepers all over the world.
