New Common Agricultural Policy should be answer to new challenges

How to safe quality foods for reasonable price for the growing world population? How at the same time to maintain biodiversity, to protect landscape and natural resources? How an inspection of functionality of the Common Agricultural Policy will fall out and which mechanisms will further form it? These questions were discussed by resort ministers of twenty seven EU member states at an informal council of ministers of agriculture and fishing in Slovenian Brd.

Positions of president candidates to warming according Klaus tragic

Positions of candidates for American president in which they show that they want to fight against global warming are considered by Czech president Václav Klaus as “sad and tragic”. “I am horrified by it because I am horrified by the future of this planet”, Klaus said journalist in Washington after introduction of printing of his book Modrá, nikoli zelená planeta (Blue, not green planet) on Tuesday. He warns in it against reckless steps in name of fight with a climatic change which could have far-reaching consequences for liberty and human prosperity.

First Czech bio-frankfurters are introduced to market by Moravan masná výroba s.r.o. Petřvald

The agricultural enterprise Moravan masná výroba s.r.o. Petřvald introduces the first Czech fine frankfurters in bio-quality on the market. All raw materials for their production come from ecological farms from area of north and south Moravia. Bio fine frankfurters (“bio jemné párky”) are produced from hundred-percent bio-beef meat. Naturally gluten-free sausage is processed by traditional procedures and does not contain nitrite salts, commonly used conserving substances and soya. Neither substitutes nor slaughter wastes are used in the production. Bio-frankfurters are delivered either in vacuum package by 2 kg or as a piece weighing 0,240 kg (5 pieces of frankfurters). A price is about 300,- CZK per 1 kg.

Ninety percent of people depend on four plants

Less than 14 animal species and four species of plants – it is a food of ninety percents of people who now lives on the Earth. Rice is basic food for more than a half of the world population. Prices of basic foods are record. And their world reserves are at historical minimums. Since March last year a price of wheat has increased by 130 percents. Since this year’s beginning the price of rice has doubled. Also for this reason the world food crises got on a table of bio-diversity experts who discuss in German Bonn.
