Czech fruit is healthier, it contains less chemicals
Fruit and vegetable from Czech growers is healthier than from import. The most pesticides are put on fields not only in Malta but also in Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal. Czech farmers use significantly less pesticides in plant treatment. The Daily found out that some west-European states use five times but also even ten times more chemicals per one hectare than the Czech Republic. “If a customer hesitates within a selection of fruit to be regardful to his/her health, I recommend going by a simple thing – the country of origin.
Veleba: Pig meat could rise in price by as much as 20 percents
Prices of pig meat could increase by as much as 20 percents in consequence its small amount on market. A president of the Agrarian Chamber Jan Veleba reckoned it as his opinion today in a discussion program of the Czech television Otázky Václava Moravce (Miroslav Moravec’s questions). However, according t o him prices of most other agricultural commodities should not increase more. Nevertheless, an exception is milk price. According to Veleba a buy-out price of milk on domestic market should move between 9,50 to ten crowns for liter when now it makes in average nine crowns. He gave reasons for Friday ’s protest of farmers in form of reduction of supplies in Czech dairy works.
SVS: there is no threat of bird flu, meanwhile
In spite of the State Veterinary Administration (SVS) have no sign of coming danger of bird flu, it monitors health state both raised poultry and free-living birds. Josef Duben, a spokesman of SVS informed on it today. According to him for example 120 wild birds have been examined since January. It can be said that 56 swans, 2 herons, 4 Eurasian coots, 27 mallards, 2 cormorants, 8 blue-winged gooses, one mergansers , one blackbird, 14 turtle-doves and 5 pigeons were examined in State Veterinary Institutes in Prague, Jihlava and Olomouc. Nevertheless, it is necessary to still count on a potential risk.
Government updated financial costs for introduction of nitrate instruction
More than four and half billion crowns – it is an appraisement of investment costs necessary for fulfillment of requirements for storage capacity for natural fertilizers in so called vulnerable areas till end of 2013. Both private sector and public EU and CR resources should share in financing of the mentioned sum. The government passed an adjusted Financing strategy of implementation of EC Council instruction on water protection against contamination caused by nitrates from agricultural resources (nitrate instruction) and evaluation of fulfillment of requirements of the instruction.
