Madeta increased incomes by tenth to 7,15 billion crowns last year

The biggest Czech dairy works Madeta increased incomes from sale of goods, own products and services by almost tenth to 7,154 billion crowns last year. A fifth of the sum fell on export. A net profit of milk, cheese and butter producer increased by 35 million to 157,7 million crowns. ČTK obtained the information from an annual report embedded in the Collection of documents. According to a chief of Madeta Milan Teplý the end of last year´s first quarter brought world-wide growth of demand for milk products. Therefore prices flew upwards. „This extraordinary situation in demand for a basic raw material in all Europe escalated milk prices. Summarily said, the year was extraordinarily good in economics of processors as well as agricultural sector.

Government approved law on settlement of cooperative property

A draft law approved by the government imposes legal successors of bankrupt cooperatives to pay a financial settlement to former shareholders. Some agricultural enterprises would have to pay even tents of millions crowns. On base of a law prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture claims should be paid to cooperative shareholders who decided for financial settlement and whose cooperatives became extinct during a seven-year protection period or property was brought out from them in other companies. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates the total number of aggrieved persons to 100 000; a value of property which should be settle is ten billion crowns.

Cows doped with growth hormone are greener

From a study realized at Cornell University it results that an application of growth hormone to dairy cows will increase efficiency, save costs, the cattle will burp and fart less greenhouse gases, and so milk production will become significantly more ecological. Dairy cattle breeding requires a high concentration of animals, wide land areas for feed growing, and with it connected entitlement for energy. The cattle treated with growth hormone increases efficiency by as much as 15 %. This hormone has been already used in cows for 15 years in the USA. Attention! Don´t change the mentioned growth hormone with a famous diethylstilbestrol – a synthetic substance with hormonal effect of sex hormone which is worldwide forbidden for use in cattle. In this case it is dealt with a real growth hormone of cattle, a substance which is peculiar to a cow body; its use from viewpoint of human nutrition is safe.

Return to beef meat

In 1988 consumption of beef meat in German federative countries moved around 14,8 kilograms. With a first occurrence of disease BSE its consummation decreased as much as to seven kilograms per head in Germany in 2001. Till this time the height of consummation of this meat has not meanwhile climbed to the original level yet. In 2006 it reached a value of 8,3 kilograms. This statement was published by a German Meat Processing Union.
