Prime Minister visited Ministry of Agriculture

Deblocking of land and a change of transformation law are the main tasks of the agricultural resort. The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Mirek Topolánek said it during a Tuesdays work visit at the Ministry of Agriculture. “I take it for a really big task with which settlement of relations with churches is connected. What has been stolen has to be given back; this slogan cannot be struck out only in some subjects. In this direction agriculture has been distorted probably the most and it merits finalization of process of redress of grievances”, the Premier said.

Farmers have to import pigs from all Europe

Agricultural enterprises reduce pig breeding because price of pig meat in live weight is permanently low and does not cover costs. The situation around pigs is critical already for several years. “A price of pig meat caused a loss roughly of ten crowns per kilo which in big numbers climbed in million sums”, a chief of the Regional Agrarian Chamber in Opava František Mariánek explained. In context with that he added also other problem: The region Opava does not have almost any slaughter. “A situation with slaughter is bad. The slaughter Jatka – Kurka in Otice is the only which slaughter pigs in the region. In my opinion, there is no small slaughter in the region Opava. Cattle is slaughtered the closest in Český Těšín and Valašské Meziříčí”, he specified the problem.EU wants to cancel protection of foods as Žatec hops

Multiyear and costly effort of many food producers for protection of names of products in frame of the EU can soon show to be absolutely useless. Brussels considers seriously that it will cancel all protection of food products, so the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), the Protected Geographical Indication (PDI) as well as protection of the Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG). According to a spokeswoman of the Food Chamber Dana Večeřová is stands in so called “Green Book”, meanwhile as a proposal, which should be officially published in half of this year´s October.

Bursík offered help to inhabitans of Nové Heřmínovy

The Minister of Environment Martin Bursík arrived at Nové Heřmínovy on Monday the 21st of July to offer a help with planning of sustainable development of the municipality. Jarmila Krebsová from a press department of the Ministry of Environment of the CR (MŽP) informed on it today and added that at a meeting with local representatives and citizens and in discussion with a hetman and representatives of municipalities of the Moravian-Silesian region Bursík also in details introduced a proposal of solution of flood protection in a drainage area of the river upper Opava.
