MZe: Novel should make farmers to treat carefully with landscape

An amendment of act, which will be discussed by the government on Wednesday, should make famers to treat carefully with the landscape. According to the Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) the novel will make a system of checks more effective and it will introduce a point system. If a farmer does not fulfill set conditions for a long time, he/she can forfeit subsidies. “The novel introduces so called a cross-compliance system whose anchorage in Czech legislative is required by the European Union from 2009”, the Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič said to ČTK today. “The new system will help in a form of instruction or recommendation to keep work procedures in management so that public interest would not be endangered and at the same time the economic stability of agricultural enterprises would be maintained”, Gandalovič pointed out.

At the beginning of mushroom season people who try to capitalize on forest fruit appear in car-parks and along roads. Many potential customers who stop at the pickers suspect that such sale in not completely all right. “I am interested whether anybody can sale mushrooms. I do not myself know mushrooms and am afraid that I can become a victim of a person with the same negligible knowledge”, Jana Krčmářová from Stříbro is afraid of such imagination.

Prices of rock oil a reason to change economic policy

The imagination that there is and will be enough natural mineral resources and that their relatively low price will corresponds with that is false. Consequences of policy of cheap raw materials and energy will show itself. Resources are consumed in still bigger and bigger amount; the present deposits of raw materials are spent fast; there is no investment in opening of mining from new deposits, so, a day when raw-material, energetic and maybe also other crisis will burst out. If many mineral raw materials can be better or worse replaced and their own and principial rise in price cannot be so painful, the situation in rock oil is different.

This year´s September again in token of ecological agriculture

The event is an ideal opportunity when all interested people can taste and compare domestic (not only) bio-foods and principles of their production. This year tens of ecologic farms, producers, businessmen and bio-food sellers all over the Czech Republic will participate in the action September – the month of bio-foods. An aim of the campaign in frame of which almost 100 actions took place last year all over the CR and thousands of visitors participated in is to inform as many people as possible on principles of ecological agriculture.
