Park has new logo

So, visitors of the highest Czech mountains will meet both the old and the new logos till the complete re-marking. A supposed time of replacement of the shield will be about several few years.

ČSÚ: According to lowered estimation harvest of cereals will increase by 7 pct

According to an estimation of the Czech Statistic Office (ČSÚ) from a half of July farmers would have to harvest 6.821 million tons of basic cereals, so up seven percent against last year. Statistics lowered the original July presumption by 58.  000 tons which amounts to 0,8 percent. This year by estimation 1.071 million tons of rape should be harvested; year-on-year up 3,8 percent. ČSÚ estimation in cereals are slightly lower that presumption of the Agrarian Chamber. At the end of July it predicted that the harvest of basic cereals could reach 6,9 million tons this year and against the last year it would be higher by about a half of million tons. The Chamber added that yields are better this year than the last one.

Differences in fruit and vegetable consumption in Europe

According to a new report of European Statistic Office Eurostat in 2002-2006 there was a huge difference in consumption of fruit and vegetable between countries with the biggest and lowest consumption per head. The highest yearly consumption is in Greece (over 120 kg) which is followed by France, Denmark and Italy. On the contrary Lithuania, Bulgaria and Great Britain consume the less of fruit and vegetable (less than 40 kg). An extreme difference between north and south Europe is in a consumption of fresh tomatoes. Greece consumes about 60 kg/person; Lithuania only 3 kg. However, an opposite ratio between the north and the south is in apple consumption. The yearly apple consumption in Denmark is 94 kg per person; in Bulgaria only 7 kg.
