5th round of applications from Rural Development Programs is imminent

From the 7th to the 27th of October applicants can submit projects for land adjustments, investments in forests as well as for renewal and development of villages, their civic amenities and services, or for protection and development of cultural heritage in frame of the 5th round of the Rural Development Program (RDP). Also the Strategic Plans LEADER will be accepted for evaluation. The deadline for applications for subsidies for realization of cooperation projects in so called IV RDP Axis is by the 11th of November.

Bio-specialties from veal meat

An unceasing interest in foods in bio-quality. The company Landgut Pretschen from Spreewald can be taken for almost exemplary enterprise of organic farming. One of important areas of its business activities is development of calves fattening. Culinary delicacies processed according to prescriptions of domestic production are against other bio-foods delivered on the market in a wide supply . Processed foods from veal roast meat, veal sausages to veal ham are introduced in the circuit. In production demanding requirements for production of above mentioned food products have to be met.

Other flood-protection building accepted – it was invested by LČR

Leštínský brook in the river-basin Dyje will better resist to floods from now. Today accepted building of dry reservoir “PPO Leštínský brook – POLDR” will contribute to it. An investot of the building near a village Číchov in the region Třebíč is Lesy České Republiky, s.p. – Administration of rivers, area of river-basin Dyje with a seat in Brno. Costs for realization of the polder have reached 13,5 million crowns, of it 75 percent was a subsidy by the Ministry of Agriculture CR from the program “Flood-protection measure” and 25 percents were invested by the state enterprise Lesy České Republiky, s.p. from own financial means.

New test will reveal BSE even in alive animals

Canadian scientists announced an invention of method which enables to detect the disease of mad cows even in alive animals. Till this time laboratories needed for detection of the disease a part of brain tissue. BSE, the disease of mad cows, can be now revealed according to composition of proteins in urine of ill animals . “It should be possible to develop also similar tests for other animal species including people with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (SJD)”, David Knox, one of the scientists of Public Health-Care Agency of Canadian National Microbiological Laboratory in Winnipeg, said to the agency Reuters.
