White bread comes back to Czech plates
Czech get back to white bread and prefer it still more and more to wholemeal products. However, according to nutrition specialists it is not good for their health. Not only white flour is short of most stock and minerals but moreover white bread can contribute to inception of diabetes and obesity. Wholemeal bread (buns, rolls, bread etc..) is concerning energy comparable with white bread, however, wholemeal-flou r products have significantly better nutrition values. They contain stock and have lower glycaemic index which means that people feel full longer. “Foods with high glycaemic index as for example white bread or various rice small breads cause an intensive increase of sugar level in blood.”
IRZ will provide till this time the most data on pollution over 2007
The Ministry of Environment publishes new data on pollution of the Environment in the country today. Polluters had to for the fourth time give information on amount of emitted substances in the air and the soil to the ministry, if need was also on sewage waters and wastes. Users will find till this time the most information over all the period of functioning of a Czech public register of pollution on the pages: www.irz.cz 1177 premises reported over 2007. The number of premises registered in IRZ annually grows and IRZ became a very important source of information on the environment which is used not only by the public but also by special institutions.
South-Bohemian milk will go to Bavaria
A milk war continues. Low purchase prices of milk of Madeta forced breeders to import milk abroad. From November daily 25 thousands litres of milk from a production of members of the milk cooperative Jih will go to Germany instead of to south-Bohemia Madeta. According to dairy cow breeders production of milk doesn´t pay off at present vice versa it is rather losing activity. Last for farmers suitable purchase prices of milk were in the winter months – about ten crowns per liter, since the time they have got for milk from south-Bohemian producer of milk products Madeta still less and less money.
Intensive growth of bio-foods market is expected
Statistic data on a situation in the CR. The bio-food consumption should increase by 70 % yearly in the CR in following three years and in 2010 it should reach 6,5 bil. CZK. Compared to the consumption in height of 1,29 bil. CZK in 2007 the market will increase five times. The increased consumers´ demand will be caused mainly by an information campaign of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund “Ecological Agriculture and Bio-foods” which will spend for education activities 25 mil. CZK. Five the biggest retail dealers with bio-foods shared in the total retail turnover by 23 % last year.
