Eco-farmers will not join the blockade

Information from the Marginal Areas Union (SMO). Organic farmers registered in the Marginal Areas Union announced that they would not join the possible road blockade with heavy machines which the Agrarian Chamber is considering as one of possible forms of protest against a state budget for 2009 on the 13th of October. It was said by Milan Boleslav, a chairman of the Union after a public inquiry evaluation which took place at a negotiation of the organization on the 2nd of October. SMO associates about 260 small, middle and large farms managing predominantly in borderland. Boleslav reported that most members in the inquiry were for refusal of the road blockade with heavy machines and other similar actions.

Milk prices stifle producers

Mass media reported an increasing problem of farmers caused by further fall of milk price in last days. Dairy works and mainly trade chains assert that farmers´ requirements are disproportionate. Therefore in producers where it is possible to found out demonstrably a fat and protein content a share of farmers is count in trade price in the following text. The result is surprising; in many products we lose count of. In calculations it is stemmed from s ratio: 37,5 % of the value is fat and 62,5 % proteins. A reliable ratio was not successfully found in a special literature.

Water from a tap is in the Czech Republic one of the best in the world

Water from a tap is better than the packed – it is nothing new. However, MF DNES has found out that we can rely on water from water tap completely in all regions of the Czech Republic. And even that it belongs to the best in the world. Water which you have in a tap at home is checked stricter than for example bread or fruit in shops. In international quality scales Czech water got a maximal evaluation five “drops”. Slovakia has a point down. Water in plastic bottles has a substantial disadvantage – it goes wrong more easily. “Water goes in tap maximally two days. In a bottle it can lie weeks or months”, said František Kožíšek from the State Healt Institute.

SZPI pays increased attention to foods with milk component indigenous from China

In connection with the case of Chinese milk in which a contamination by chemical substance melamin has been proved the European Commission decided on the 26th of September on tightening of measures which should protect European market against these dangerous foods. Already from 2002 it is forbidden to import milk product from China which is hold also for dry milk. The import ban is now applied also for all Chinese foods which contain milk component and are determined for nutrition of nurse- and small children. A supervisory authorities has to sample and examine a possible melamin content in every delivery of foods from China which contain more than 15 % of milk component or in which it is not possible to found out the content of this component.
