Gandalovič: Decisive bottle over functioning of Common Agrarian Policy is being prepared in Brussels
As a next chairman of the Agriculture and Fishery Council the Minister Gandalovič had a speech in the Agricultural Committee of the European Parliament (EP) closely before voting of EP on an attitude towards so expected result of a check of functioning of the Common Agrarian Policy – “Health Check”. Concurrently negotiations of member states take place on a final form of Health Check at a level of Deputy Ministers of Agriculture. “The result of Health Check is crucial for the CR mainly concerning a modulation, so transfer of direct payment means in favour of rural development”
Association solved direct payments with premier
The Premier of the CR Mirek Topolánek accepted representatives of the Private Agriculture Association of the CR (ASZ ČR). They discussed a situation in the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture for 2009 on Tuesday the 7th of October. A chairman of ASZ ČR Stanislav Němec asked the Premier to open a question of reduced direct payments for the next year. At the mentioned discussion the Premier with representatives of ASZ ČR looked for solution possibilities of the current situation in which farmers will miss about 2,5 bil. CZK to align payments next year. The meting program the contained also other points as for example impact on farmers in case of agriculture land tax after its increase by municipalities,
Fair Trade foods force on Czech market
Fair Trade foods will be more visible on the Czech market. From a half of October large-scale shops Makro Cash & Carry and restaurants of the company Eurest will include them in their supply. The Czechs are more and more interested in products with the mark Fair Trade, which is a symbol of so called fair trade. “People will get to know from medial education under which conditions is e.g. chocolate produced in some countries. Then they are more interested in Fair Trade products”, Lenka Černá from a company Excellent Plzeň said. Sale of Fair Trade goods grow significantly in the Czech Republic last year and last year the Czechs spent record 27 million crowns for these products.
Fish will be obviously more expensive by several crowns
A price of Christmas carp, according to representatives of fisheries in Jindřichův Hradec region, will settle after hauls of big ponds which start just now. Now carps from fishery in Třeboň are on sale in store-ponds for 73 crowns the first class and for 83 crowns the selection, where carp with more than 2,5 kg are ranked. Last year´s Christmas prices were 69 and 79 crowns per kilogram of carp here. In store-ponds in Rybářství Kardašova Řečice a kilo of carp the first class is for 68 CZK and the selection for 78 crowns against last year´s 65 ands 78 crowns. “Usually I got fish but I would buy them more often, if they were a bit cheaper. We like healthy light food and fish belong to them; we like them”, Jitka Řeřichová from Dvory nad Lužnicí said.
