CR is the first in EU in sorting and recycling of plastics; it overtook Germany
The Czech Republic is the first in Europe in sorting and recycling of plastics. It results from an actual statistics published by European Statistic Office Eurostat which ČTK obtained from the Union of Towns and Municipalities of the CR (SMO) today. According to that the Czech Republic recycled 44,3 percents of plastic package wastes over 2006. It overtook Germany, which led for years, by three percents. “Eurostat confirmed that a long-term conception of waste management chosen by Czech towns and municipalities is right and successful. The CR belongs among the most regardful states of the EU”, Marek Sýkora from SMO said.
Gandalovič called upon mayors of municipalities to initiative in land adjustments
The Rural Development Program and use of European funds, actual problems of local development, financing of territorial budgets in 2009 – it was a content of anniversary 30th Days of Small Municipalities at which mayors of smaller towns and villages from all the Czech Republic arrived on Thursday the 9th of October in Prague. Petr Vorlíček, a spokesman of the ministry informed on it. Already traditionally Petr Gandalovič, the Minister of Agriculture, visited Prague meeting. Also representatives of the Ministry of Finances, the Ministry for Local Development and the Department of Environment acquainted all with relevant departmental tools of support of our countryside.
Vaccination against BT according to plan
On the Friday the 3rd October more than 80 % of ruminants have been vaccinated against catarrhal fever of sheep (bluetongue). It means almost million hundred thousands cows; further also 154 thousand sheep and 17 thousand goats. The animals which were vaccinated against the catarrhal sheep fever among the first are already now revaccinated. Already over 316 thousand cows, more than 35 thousand sheep and 3,5 thousand goats have been already revaccinated to achieve immunity. Shortly, all runs according to a plan.
SVS and checks of honey
A season of honey harvest has already finished and a period of sale and other processing of honey for consumers comes. Nor the State Veterinary Administration of the CR idles and uses just this period for checks of health unobjectionability and quality of honey. It exercises common controls at processors, tradesmen and in market network. In the long term they monitors extraneous substances in honey not only indigenous the Czech Republic but also abroad.
