Diagnostics of start of ovulation in sows

An ultrasonic scanner, besides an examination of pregnancy, offers also a possibility to detect start of ovulation after weaning in sows. With the help of this method it is possible to use reserves in fertility of sows which usually stay unused. Theoretically an optimal time section for the insemination is 24 to 12 hours before start of ovulation. This interval results from the necessity of two biological processes – sperms able to fertilize have to meet an egg cell suitable for fertilization in the eallopian tube of a sow.

Crisis impacts also on nature. There will not be money for conservation

According to specialists a consequence of the world financial crisis can be also a lack of money for conservation of nature and a fight with climatic changes. A server NationalGeographic.com writes that during a meeting of the Inte rnational Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) it was agreed in Barcelona. The serious economic crisis which started in the USA will probably reflect itself in priorities of governments for several next years. According to Alejandr Nadal, who sits in a work group of IUCN for macroeconomics and environment, conservation of nature will be shifted backward.
