Amazonian wildwood should save espionage system
Brazil, which tries to beat illegal timber harvesting in Amazonian wildwood with varying successes, bet on modern technologies. It monitors cutting trees in Amazonia by the help of a satellite recording system. Thanks to actual photographs Brazilian government can find and stop illegal wood companies. Photographs can be even used as an evidence in court, the agency Reuters writes. Machinery which is otherwise used in espionage helps in a fight against cutting trees but also against disallowed buildings, forest fires and contraband of drugs.
Union gave green to burning of wastes in power stations
At Monday´s meeting Ministers of environment of EU-27 agreed on a new instruction about wastes which presumed their wider use as power raw material. However, a priority of member states should be a prevention of own production of wastes. “The new instruction promotes waste as additional power resource thereby it should contribute to reduction of its amount and decrease of risk of outflow of greenhouse gases from dumps”, it is written in results of the Council of Ministers of Environment.
EU considers mitigation of rules for BSE cattle testing
Last case in the CR was proved in 2007 in the region Teplice. From the beginning of 2001, when BSE is examined in the Czech Republic, 1 325 305 pieces of cattle have been tested and 28 of them were positive. Decrease in occurrence of the disease is recorded also in other EU member states. Still all healthy slaughter cattle older 30 months and necessarily slaughtered animals older 24 months have to be examined.
Slow return of American beef meat on Korean market
Principles of a successful business on new trade outlets. Korean importers of beef meat from the United States of America continue in difficult penetration on their own market. They face current protests of the public and at the same time they require to effect the safety of consumers. Till the 20th of August 5 850 tons of beef meat have been imported in Korea from the USA. Korean customers imported foods including 5 700 tons of frozen beef meat which was stored from the time when this market was closed in October. Therefore only a small amount was imported by air.
