MŽP priorities for presidency

The Ministry of Environment (MŽP) acquainted journalist with priorities in the area of environment during Czech presidency in he EU Council today at an informal work breakfast. The informal breakfast took place with participation of the first deputy minister of environment Jan Dusík, a directress of the division of European Union of the MŽP Veronika Hunt Šafránková and a public relations officer of MŽP Jakub Kašpar. Despite a difficult economic situation caused by quakes on financial markets the presidency is aware of need to meet obligations in climate protection and to struggle for maintenance of EU position as a world leader in this area.

SPIN Pilsen was taken over by meat processor in Klatovy; production goes full speed

Šumavský masokombinát Klatovy (meat processor) which was taken over by Pilsen firm SPIN Plus at this year´s beginning continues in full production without service interruption. The second biggest meat processor which handed out notices to almost all 184 employees renewed contracts with a decisive majority of 200 people who were overtaken by a new entrepreneur. This week it wants to renew contracts with all suppliers and by 14 days with consumers. David Bednář, a new and old director said it to ČTK. “We closed contacts with people under the same conditions as they had had before. They works with indeterminate duration without a trial period”, he added.

Implementation of quality management system can bring competitive advantage to small firms

An implementation of quality management system can mean a competitive advantage for a firm Kalma, a top Czech plant oil producer, as well as for other producers of similar type. It is a certificate for them that their products and provided services are quality and will stand the test in a strong competitive food-industry branch. The company Kalma advocated the highest possible certification marking BS EN ISO 9001:2000 last year 2008 which is valid for the whole European Union and it has been successfully set up last year.

ARDO will cancel production of frozen vegetable in Mochov; 130 people without work

A company ARDO will liquidate its factory for production of frozen vegetable and fruit in Mochov near Prague. It will maintain only business department which will secure a sale in the Czech Republic. A head of department of labour market Hana Štecová said it to ČTK on Monday that Belgian owner had acquainted with it the Bureau of Labour Prague – East at the end of December. According to a marketing manager of the company ARDO Mochov Lukáš Moravec the production premises will be closed in Mochov till half of 2009 which means a loss 130 working places.
