Minister Gandalovič negotiated support of Czech milk and food with trade chains

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič initiated a meeting with important trade chains on Czech market. Main topics were a support of Czech milk and other food of domestic production. Other bargaining point was problems of law on significant market power. The negotiation took place with participation of representatives of the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism (SOCR ČR), the president of SOCR ČR Zdeněk Juračka, and representatives of retail chains and member firms of SOCR ČR - AHOLD, BILLA, GLOBUS, MAKRO, SPAR, TESCO and consumer cooperatives

Businessmen: More than 90 % of milk products is from the Czech Republic

A share of Czech milk products on shelves of Czech trade chains exceeds 90 percents and the saturated market no longer enables a significant increase in their sale. ČTK was told by the president of Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism of the Czech Republic (SOCR ČR) and a chief of the Czech and Moravian Consumer Cooperatives Union (COOP) Zdeněk Juračka. He refused statement of the Agrarian Chamber (AK) on a still growing share in milk products from import which reputedly force out domestic products from Czech shops.

Third round of applications for subsidies from program Fishery will be opened in February

February the third round reception of applications from the Operational Program Fishery focuses on productive investments in aquaculture and investments in processing and introduction of fish products on a market. Applicants can submit projects from the 10th of February 2009 to the 2nd of March 2009 13:00 o´clock. For evaluation of competence of the applicants, the Rules were enlarges and points criteria were newly set. An emphasize is put first of all on a share of fishing activity of an applicant in consideration of a length of their working in the branch. Against the last round, a possibility of repayment of expenditures for technical documentation was significantly increased because it often requires a demanding elaboration.

MZe does maximum for support of dairy sector

The Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) continues in intensive negotiations on solution of critical situation in the dairy sector. The first deputy minister of agriculture Ivo Hlaváč discussed with the president of the Food Chamber of the CR Miroslav Toman agricultural priorities and a program of Czech presidency, including the actual situation in dairy sector today. Already yesterday afternoon, the Minister Gandalovič met representatives of trade chains. As a negotiation chairman of the Council of Ministers next week in Brussels, the minister is prepared to give the topic the appropriate space.
