President Obama wants to limit subsidies to farmers

American president Barack Obama wants to give up paying off direct payments to large agricultural plants which are not according to his opinion dependent on these incomes. A total volume of direct payments paid off to farmers annually represents a sum approximately in height 5,2 billion American dollars. Of the total annual USA state budget experts from the White House identified as uneconomical subsidy payment in height 2 billion crowns of American dollars, the president Obama stated at a meeting of American Congress in Washington this week.

Profit of Cukrovary a lihovary TTD decreased by almost 72 percents

The company Cukrovary a lihovary TTD, which belongs among leaders of domestic sugar market, created a consolidated profit 105 million crowns over an accounting period from the 1st of October to the 30th of September 2008. It is an year-or-year decrease by almost 72 percents of 458 millions. A spokesman of the firm Martin Kolář acquainted ČTK with it. The consolidated incomes of the company reached 4,4 billion crowns. According to the spokesman, the firm management was influenced by three important factors. “One of them is an actual reform of European sugar order, the second one is an extreme strengthening of Czech crown towards Euro in the mentioned accounting period and also the starting economic crisis”, the spokesman said.

State prepares surrender of food producers´ debts

The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič besides steps approved in a government crisis-protection parcel prepares other extraordinary help for food producers who complain about a significant deterioration of consumers payment moral, abuse of own cash flow and difficulties in obtaining credits. “We want to support a surrender of debts in cases when food producers have a lot of commitments to farmers and pay them in a longer time.

Price stagnation continues owing to inhibition on European markets on Plodinová burza

The continuing crisis and decreased business activity on European markets shows itself by a price stagnation on the Plodinová burza (corn-exchange) in Brno. The prices of commodities traded on the exchange vary in a range of five percents since the last séance two week ago. The buy-out prices increased the most owing to a bigger interest in corn which raised in price as much as by 162 crowns, a general secretary of the exchange Karel Zezula said to ČTK today. Price of corn as the only one increased by more than five percents. Now a ton in parity FCA when a transport is covered by a buyer costs 2777 crowns and in parity DDP when transport is paid by a seller then 2842 crowns.
