EU will examine milk producers´ situation as well as impacts of crisis on agriculture

Ministers of agriculture of European Union countries will discuss problems of milk producers and impacts of a financial and economic crisis on agriculture. The ministers led by Petr Gandalovič, representing Czech presidency, will consider carefully what concrete tasks the Union should make to help milk producers. Prices, which producers get for milk, have significantly decreased last months. The demand on international markets decreases and on the contrary a competition of Union producers increases in other parts of the world.

Czech farmer was appreciated for protection of land and environment in EU

For the first time in history of giving the Environment and Soil Management Award this prize wanders in the Czech Republic. A farmwife Jana Maděrová from South-Bohemian Jistebnice had merit in it. The Environment and Soil Management Award is bestowed annually by ELO Environment and Soil Management Award under the sponsorship of Euro-commissioner for environment Stavros Dimas, in cooperation with the General Management of EC for environment, universities in Vienna, Lublan, and with a common research center ISPRA and with a company SYNGENTA International.

Farmers swear about buy-out process, however, they are pleased with successful winter crops

Farmers in the Czech Republic could be satisfied with survival of winter crops on fields. However, they are worried about low buy-out process, an economic crisis, and in comparison with countries of the former fifteen a little money from the European Union. “Winter crops and rape survived well, nevertheless, else it is “scab and smallpox”. A very bad buy-out price is in cereals but also in potatoes; apart from meat and milk at all. When it will go on like this, we will not stay on”, a private farmer Jaroslav Kreuz from a farm Suchá near Jihlava implied on Friday. For illustration he added that he sold food wheat in top quality for 3200 crowns per ton in December, a year before he got for the same quality double.

Government agreed support for transformation of vineyards

The government agreed an amendment of government regulation on determination of condition within implementation of arrangements of common wine market organization today. An aim of the concept is and adjustment of the present conditions of supports for restructuring and transformation of vineyards and a newly conceived investment support which should increase efficiency of viticultural enterprises. Also, the novel brings a simplification of the support system. The main aim of the proposed amendment is an adjustment of a measure for support of vineyards restructuring and transformation.
