Nothing has happened since 12th March 2009
On the 12th of March in Prague, with participation of 8000 farmers from 8 countries of the European Union a demonstration took place whose one of two requirements was to stop a fall of dairy cattle. Despite the fact almost 3 weeks are already gone, despite the fact that we asked the Minister of Agriculture for negotiation, from the side of the Ministry management no activity has happened, no tip-off, no step towards finding a solution. Farms of dairy cattle are economically devastated, the same as pig breedings were devastated two years ago and the consequence was a fall of this branch. Last year more than 20 % numbers of animals were killed; the self-sufficiency in pig meat decreased from 129 % in 2003 (before the accession in the EU) to 70 % in last year.
Governments agreed changes in entry in real estate register
The government at its Monday negotiation adopted a parliamentary draft law on entries of property and other matter-of-fact rights to real properties and law on regulation charges. An aim of the draft is removal of insufficiencies in a valid legal adjustment and also a n increase in the charges in the entry in real estate register which will be used to fasten digitizing of cadastral maps. The novel brings important changes needed for everyday functioning of real property market. It enables to submit entries on a uniform form. Thereby a number of wrong submitted applications should decrease.
Lack of world wheat reserves
The international wheat market is characterized by a decrease in reserves and an extreme increase in demand. A supply situation is unsatisfactory, reserves of the most important bread cereals will be covered nor by a record harvest 2008/2009. While the food production increased significantly in 90´ s, the raw-materials supply decreased dramatically. The market needs more cereals that it is produced. At first sight the situation looks contradictorily. The last four harvests were good and also the harvest 2008/2009 looks promisingly. In the fall 2008, American ministry USDA estimated the next world harvest to 656 mil. tons which is year-on-year by 7 % more.
SZPI investigated case of food with melamin
The State Agricultural and Food Inspection (SZPI) by means of the Rapid Alarm System for foods and feeds from the EU obtained information that other food was distributed on our territory, in which excess content of melamin was proved. It was dealt with Wild roasted nuts (date of minimal expiration 6.7.09, package 150 g). The foods originated from China from where get through the Netherlands and Austria in the Czech Republic where firms VMB Perla s.r.o from Sokolov and Ronja s. r.o from Znojma sold it to final consumers. However, in examination in all companies it was found out that the mentioned food is any longer in the market.
