Maybe, farmers will again protest because of milk

Maybe, in near future farmers will again demonstrate owing to problems of dairy cattle breeders. Roughly a half of regional Agrarian Chambers and breeding organizations is a supporter of immediate protests; the second half wants to wait for of a new government nomination and to try to negotiate about its requirements. Jan Veleba, the chairman of Agrarian Chamber of the CR said it to ČTK today. According to his opinion probably the protest advocates will turn the scale in the end. According to the Ministry of Agriculture intervention into the milk market have already reached a ceiling of their possibilities.

Over 40 million for ecological education and consultancy

Subsidies from the State Fund Environment (SFŽP) in height more than 40 million crowns, determined for environmental training, education, enlightenment and consultancy, were approved by the Minister of Environment Martin Bursík on Friday. It is dealt with subsidies for successful projects submitted up to the first call appeal for the program of SFŽP for environmental training, education, enlightenment and consultancy support this year. Priority topics in this call appeal were a climatic change and a protection of air, a new law on wastes, a support of material use of wastes and wrappings, and a sustainable consumption and production.

Extraordinarily critical situation in milk sector

A letter translation written by a president of COPA, Mr. J.M. Lemetayer and a president of COGECA Mr. G. Van Dijk addressed to all ministers of agriculture in EU 27 concerning an expression to the present crisis in a sector of dairy cattle. Dear Minister, a milk production is a very specific agricultural activity. The cattle sector is widely spread in all regions of Europe; practically it is dealt with every second farm. This is very important from both points of view the economic one and also the environment. Moreover, milk production from a long-term view-point requires huge investments.

KLASA announces competition “Butcher shop 2009”

The mark KLASA in frame of a new campaign with a slogan “Especial quality warranted” prepared in a cooperation with the Czech Meat Processors Union a competition “Butcher shop 2009”. It will start on the 20th of April and will take place till the 1st of September 2009. Meat and smoking products producers and sellers who sell meat products with the mark KLASA can apply. They will have an opportunity by means of the competition to present their shops and last but not least also to prove a provide service and its quality to final consumers.
