Gandalovič: State cannot influence milk buy-out price
The state does not determine and cannot influence prices on milk market. A solution of the present situation in the sector is only system measures. The minister Petr Gandalovič told it in a reaction to tomorrow´s planned protest farmers actions. Farmers want to go out on road with heavy machines tomorrow´s in several regions and in this way to express dissatisfaction with the present low buy-out milk prices. According to Gandalovič, the Ministry cannot influence market prices, however, first hints of improvement appear in these days. The Ministry of Agriculture has already announced many measures which had already made to help the milk sector and which it would realize.
Panic harm travelling and farmers
Air companies, travel agencies, cereal producers, rock-oil exporters. These all are among the first economic victims of pig flu which spreads fast from Mexico in other countries. Some states also forbid pig meat import. They decided despite the facts that the virus H1N1 is not infectious for pigs, so, consumption of this kind of meat does not have any influence on the virus spread. World joint-stock markets were attacked by a similar insecurity like in 2003 when a respiratory infection SARS spread in the world. At that time just air companies suffered from it.
EU will not give recommendation on travelling owing to pig flu
The European Union will not give any common recommendation to citizen that the y should avoid areas afflicted with a new type of pig flu, so, above all Mexico, the USA, and Canada. Alexander Vondra, Czech vice-premier, said it to journalist on Monday in Luxembourg after negotiation of ministers of agriculture. In his opinion, it is up to each EU member state how it warn its citizens. Nevertheless, at noon many world and Czech media informed that the European Union had recommended citizens to avoid travels in areas afflicted by the new type of pig flu unless their travels to these places are must.
Minister Gandalovič opened fair Wine Distillates
The Minister of Agriculture Petr Gandalovič together with a chairman of Senate Přemysl Sobotka opened the 12th year of international beverage fair for gastronomy Wine Distillates today in premises of Prague fairground. The fair, the biggest exposition of wines, distillates, beverages, and stimulants in new EU member states, will take place in Holešovice Fairground on the 28th – 30th of April. The first day of fair is focused on domestic, especially Moravian wines. Today, the minister Gandalovič will christen a book by a top Czech wine specialist Vilém Krause which is issued on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
