Farmers shoot mina birds. Court decides whether rightly

Fruit growers wait for a disentanglement of a unique case. Conservators sue an office which confirmed a mina bird shoot. When farmers from a village Klapý in north Bohemia look for a way to prevent a million damage, which is annually caused on their business by air attack of mina birds, they came to the only solution. To shoot them. Therefore, every year two tens of them die. They even obtained office stamps, similarly as vine-growers in Moravia. However, it is the first case when the case ended in court. And, the conservators win, meanwhile. According to the court, to take a gun in hand due to a profit has to be the last possible solution.

Tax exception and guidebook to farm transfers

A long time expected amendment of law on income tax was issued under the No. 216/2009 Col. a week ago. It concerns a delimitation of an object of income tax of individuals. A problem with taxation of income from farm transfer to acquirer in frame of a family seems to be successfully solved in applicants for a grant Preterm termination of agricultural activity (PUZČ). The tax-exemption should concern all who transferred a farm after 1.1.2009. However, paradoxically, those who will transfer a farm without use of this grant are still obliged to pay the income tax.

Start of harvest showed itself by price decrease on Corn-exchange

Coming harvest of cereals and rape shows itself by continuing price fall of commodities on the Corn-exchange in Brno. A general secretary of the change Karel Zezula said it to ČTK today. Except malting barley, all products prices decreased approximately by several percents; in case of rape the decrease was more than 12 percents. The price decrease is obvious mainly in feeding cereals. Feeding wheat it was by as many as 118 crowns per ton, so by 4,4 percents in FCA parity, when a transport is covered by a buyer; in feeding barley than by 231 crowns per ton which means a decrease in price by 9,7 percents (FAC parity).

Vaccination against bluetongue will be more expensive next year

A selective proceedings will decide on a choice of vaccine supplier for next year. Vaccination of farm animals against catarrhal sheep fever (bluetongue) will cost 125 million crowns next year, i.e. roughly by three millions more than this year (a spokesman of the State Veterinary Administration of the ČR (SVS) Josef Duben). Cattle, sheep and goats older than three years area vaccinated from the last year against the infection in the CR. Three years is a minimal period so that the vaccination was purposeful.
