Decreasing milk prices force farmers from region Klatovy to reduce number of cows
Farmers in the region Klatovy reduce cattle raisings owing to still decreasing milk buy-out price. Year-on-year it decreased by 1,20 crowns per liter and still falls. In the agrarian region there is now no agricultural profitable commodity. Meanwhile, also rape moves on a profitability border; rape always brought farmers a goodly profit. A directress of the Agrarian Chamber in Klatovy, Jiřina Jandová, said ti to ČTK. “Milk price paid to farmers is six crowns per liter now which is two to three crowns under the cost price. It decreases in the longterm and a prognosis by this year-end does not raise hopes”, she added. In the region Klatovy, a number of dairy cows decreased over the last 20 years from 20 000 to this year´s 11 000.
Excess-limit content of dioxins in cod liver
A delivery of cod livers from Poland, in which dioxins were found out by our veterinary inspection (and also by Polish veterinary authorities), was not let in the market network. Already on the 10 th of June 2009 we wrote about cod livers from Poland, a producer AJTEL Spółka Jawna, Gdańsk in which an excess-limit content of dioxins were found out. Our inspectors sampled one charge at that time and found out that the results do not meet a parameter sum of dioxins and PCB with dioxin effect. It was dealt with 22 512 pieces of cans of cod livers in own oil by 120 g (2 701 kg).
Tropical fruit enrich beverage market
The non-alcoholic beverage market experiences a stagnation of classical segments in last years, as fruit juices and classical mineral waters. Whereas new beverage completed with other benefits show growing values of the total sale. From 2008 there is a special trend to meet conditions corresponding to an economic unification of non-alcoholic beverages which offer consumers new taste enjoyment and at the same tame they have a low energy value.
Ministry and regions prepare regional quality mark Klasa
Already next year, product with a regional quality mark Klasa could appear in trade chains. Already now, Czech shop shelves offer more than thousand products with the mark Klasa, however, they are not distinquised according to regions. A project, which will cover regional competitions for the best foods, is being prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food Chamber, and regions. It was announced to journalists by the Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta and a hetman of South-Moravian region and a chief of the Association of Regions Michal Hašek (ČSSD) today.
