Somebody is frightened of Panga sius, somebody else of Santa Klaus

Recently, an article, reputedly expert one, , written in bad Czech about terrible Pangasius bred in Vietnam, full of all possible residues, starting with malachite green and ending with hormones, spreads on the internet. If carefully read, a reasonable person understand that it is dealt with a classical calumny. Nevertheless, a seed of mistrust is sown and we have already answered several questions, for example of an operator of dining-halls, what is the truth. The State Veterina ry administration of the CR has organized two checking actions focused on fish.

CSO: Input prices in agriculture decrease slower than buy-out prices.

Input prices in agricultural production decreased by 10,6 percents in the 3rd quarter year-on-year, it results from data of the Czech Statistic Office (CSO). Prices of artificial fertilizers and soil improving means decreased the most, they were lower by quarter. Prices of feeds decreased by 19,5 and prices of breeding and production animals by 14,2 percents. However, the decrease of production costs is slower than decrease in buy-out prices of agricultural commodities. Their fall lasts already for more than a year; they decreased by more than fifth at average from July to September. While prices of products and services commonly consumed in the branch decreased by 12,1 percents, prices of investments by 1,8 percents.

Council approved possibility of extraordinary supports for milk sector

The Council of Ministers of Agriculture approved a possibility of introduction of extraordinary supports for milk sector at meeting in Brussels today. The Minister Jakub Šebesta supported also a proposal of Hungary and Slovakia about non-implementation of groundless marking of young goats and sheep, it would be a useless burden for breeders. Ministers of Agriculture supported also a Commission´s proposal for start of extraordinary measures in case of swings on the milk market today. This Commission´s proposal was very welcomed.

British vineyards thrive on global warming

On a sunny downhills, British vintagers cut small dark purple grapes from grapevine and throw them in plastic buckets. According to vine-growers, the grape quality works as a reliable barometer of global warming. The agency Reuters wrote it. A modest springs and autumns in last years helped to several British viticultural enterprises to renew a tradition of red wine production which was interrupted here roughly 600 years ago. Vine-growers have not unified still in their opinion however, many of them say that maybe the red wines of highest quality will come from Britain – unless a UNO conference succeeds in an agreement about new large changes aimed against climatic changes next month.
