Minister of Agriculture Jakub Šebesta participated in yesterday´s meeting of group of 22 EU countries

Ministers of agriculture discussed the future of European agriculture, especially the necessity to adapt the Common Agricultural Policy to so called new challenges at yesterday´s informal meeting of a group of 22 member countries in Paris. A host of the negotiation was French Minister of Agriculture Bruno le Maire. An aim of the meeting was to d iscuss the future of European Agriculture which will be an important topic of coming Spanish presidency. Among other things the meeting dealt with a need to define newly a frame of the Common Agricultural Policy and necessity to adapt it to so called new challenges.

Crisis rages: Zetor is for sale

A tractor producer Zetor from Brno is for sale. Two independent sources from financial branch confirmed that. A Slovak group HTC Holding wants to sell the firm, which according to information of a daily E15 falls in still deeper loss, by means of a consultancy company Wood & Company. “Main and almost the only assets which the firm offers to potential buyers are the mark Zetor and production capacities”, one of the sources stated. According to information of the daily E15, for example Energetický a průmyslový holding PPF a J&T was interested in Zetor recently.

Final accounts of Ministry of Agriculture over 2008 does not show fair presentment of accounting

The Ministry of Agriculture (MZe) according to NKÚ was not a reliable basis for framing of a final account of the chapter 329 – MZe over the year 2008. The total incorrectness was expressed in numbers in height over 1,4 bil. CZK and it was caused partly by overvaluation and partly undervaluation of particular items of relevant statements. The final accounts of the chapter did not contain some obligatory facts. Inspectors of the Supreme Control Office came to this conclusion. Their aim was to check reliability of the final accounts to December 31, 2008 submitted by MZe as a basis for a final count of the state budget chapter - 329 – Ministry of Agriculture.

Also this year carps on Christmas table

It seems that also this year most households will chew on Christmas carp at Christmas Eve. For example in Prague the Municipal Veterinary Administration registers almost 190 applications for seasonal carp sale till now. Conditions are the same as last year. For imagination, it is possible to cite from these conditions: The seasonal sale of alive fish on a separate sale place is according to § 25 article 3 of the Veterinary Law subdued to that a person who is going to operate the seasonal sale of alive fish will announce at least 7 days before start of the sale to a local relevant regional veterinary administration when and on where the sale will be opened and when it will be closed.
